Set up a variable direct debit to pay for HM Land Registry services

How Business e-services customers set up a variable direct debit (VDD) to pay fees for HM Land Registry services.

Details

Access to Business e-services through the portal and Business Gateway is free, but you need at least one VDD account to pay fees for services.

To set up a VDD account with us, complete the application form and mandate, page 13 to 15, of the document above: Paying for HM Land Registry services by Variable Direct Debit.

New customer

If you are a new customer applying for Business e-services you should complete and submit the VDD application form with your AFS1 form and any other relevant documents (listed in Apply for Business e-services) such as:

  • Network Access Agreement
  • Memorandum of Understanding for lenders
  • Additional administrator details continuation sheet AFS4
  • Deputy responsible person details AFS5

Existing customer

If you are an existing customer applying for additional Business e-services, you should complete and submit the VDD application form with your AFS2 form and any other relevant documents (listed in Apply for additional Business e-services), such as:

  • Network Access Agreement
  • Memorandum of Understanding for lenders
  • Additional administrator details continuation sheet AFS4
  • Deputy responsible person details AFS5

Existing customer for new VDD

If you are an existing customer applying for a new VDD account, you should complete and submit the VDD application form on its own.

  1. We have amended our terms and conditions for customers with direct debit accounts not associated with the portal to record a change in our notification processes. We have updated our system, customers will now receive two separate direct debit notifications, one with a PDF file attached with a breakdown of the total amount to be collected and a second with a link to the information in CSV format.
