This code of practice is made pursuant to paragraph 6(1) of Schedule 14 to the Terrorism Act 2000 (TACT) which requires the Secretary of State to issue a code of practice in relation to the exercise of powers conferred on officers by the “terrorist property” provisions of Schedule 1 to the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001 (“the Act”). Under paragraph 6(4) of Schedule 14 to TACT the Secretary of State may revise the code and issue the revised code.
