Secretary of State visits to Wales

We were asked:

  • how many times has the Secretary of State visited Wales since her appointment in May to 22nd June 2010?

  • how many days has she spent in Wales?

  • how many overnight stays has she had in Wales?

  • what meetings has she attended with UK Ministers regarding the UK budget announced on the 22nd June 2010?

  • what representations and meetings have been made by MPs regarding the budget to the Secretary of State?’

Between the date of her appointment and 22nd June 2010, in her official capacity as Secretary of State for Wales she has visited Wales 10 times, having stayed overnight on official business on four occasions.

In addition to regular meetings of Cabinet, the Secretary of State met the Chief Secretary of the Treasury to specifically discuss the Budget and its implications for Wales on one occasion.

No representations have been made by MPs and no meetings have been held with any MP to discuss the Budget specifically.
