Details

The research was conducted on behalf of the Department for Education by Ipsos, in partnership with TONIC, Professor Kathryn Riley and the Anna Freud Centre. It used an in-depth qualitative case study design across 16 mainstream primary and secondary schools, and aimed to:

  • explore how these schools embed belonging-supportive practices into their particular context and ethos
  • understand how belonging practices intersect with schools’ approaches to attendance and attainment
