Details of the application

Sandfields Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from a freshwater lake filled from underground strata comprising Superficial Drift deposits overlying the Warwickshire Avon Secondary Mudrocks, at Old Dunnington Farm Reservoir, Salford Priors.

The proposed abstraction will take place within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References: SP 07390 53225, SP 07275 52882, SP 07464 52818, and SP 07659 53117.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 78 cubic metres an hour

  • 545 cubic metres a day

  • 45,460 cubic metres a year

  • between 01 March and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation and trickle irrigation.
