Safety Bulletin 33 – Paroc Navis 60 non-compliant structural fire protection

PAROC Marine Navis Slab/Mat/Wired 60 structural fire protection has been found to not meet 60-minute requirement, instructions for what to do if it is found onboard are contained within.

Details

Applicable to all vessels with PAROC Marine Navis Slab/Mat/Wired 60 installed as structural fire protection onboard in the following configurations:

  • Paroc Marine Navis Slab/Mat/Wired Mat 60, 50/30 mm for A-60 Steel Deck
  • Paroc Marine Navis Slab/Mat/Wired Mat 60, 60/30 mm for A-60 Steel Bulkhead
  • Paroc Marine Navis Slab/Mat/Wired Mat 60, 70/30 mm for A-60 Steel Bulkhead

Following independent testing it has been found that the PAROC Marine Navis Slab/Mat/Wired 60 product line do not meet the A-60 Test requirements despite the products holding a Type Approval Certificate and having MED approval.

If the product is found on board the supplier should be contacted and a remedial action plan agreed with your local marine office.
