S R Whitwell & Co has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Pakenham Stream at Queach Farm, Great Barton, Bury St Edmunds at National Grid Reference TL 93245 68354.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

108 cubic metres an hour

2,593 cubic metres a day

65,000 cubic metres a year
Between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for filling a storage reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
Further details are: The proposed abstraction lies within the Sapiston catchment in the Cam and Ely Ouse abstraction licensing strategy area.
