Details of the application

S & A Soft Fruits Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from Brierley Reservoir at National Grid Reference (NGR) SO 49456 56601 to transfer it to River Lugg at NGR SO 51182 48581 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 286 cubic metres an hour

  • 6,860 cubic metres a day

  • 240,993 cubic metres a year

  • between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.

Re-abstraction will take place under the licence WA/055/0012/011 for subsequent trickle irrigation.
