An application has been made to the Environment Agency by Rye Golf Club Company Limited. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is to vary licence serial number 9/40/06/0180/G, which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising gravels at National Grid Reference (NGR) TQ 94228 19603 (“Squatters Pool”), TQ 93370 20052 (“Northpoint Lake”) and TQ 94731 19192, located at Rye Golf Course, Camber Rye, East Sussex.

The variation applied for is to increase the authorised quantities that can be abstracted from the points of abstraction at TQ 94228 19603 (“Squatters Pool”) and TQ 94731 19192 from

  • 18 cubic metres per hour
  • 255 cubic metres per day
  • 10,000 cubic metres per year

to

  • 36 cubic metres per hour
  • 500 cubic metres per day
  • 15,000 cubic metres per year
