Rumford Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from a reach of the North Walsham and Dilham Canal, at Briggate, Norfolk, between National Grid References TG 31828 27270 and TG 32001 27145, to fill a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 63 cubic metres an hour

  • 15,000 cubic metres a day

  • 90,000 cubic metres a year

  • between January and December inclusive in each year.
