Details of the application

Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Broadland Rivers catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • 2,300 cubic metres an hour
  • 27,600 cubic metres a day
  • 338,080 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April to 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) TG 33582 07281
  • from abstraction location Lackford Run at Strumpshaw Fen, Strumpshaw

The water will be used for Transfer for the purpose of wet fencing and nature conservation.
