Details of the application

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Bray Cut in Maidenhead at National Grid Reference SU 89478 80666.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 90 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,160 cubic metres a day
  • 529,200 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 March and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for the purpose of back-pumping to a fish pass on Green Lane weir to supplement at times of extreme low natural flows during the period March to October inclusive.
