Rookery Farm Limited: application made to abstract water

Rookery Farm Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The applications are for two full licences to abstract water from 2 reaches on tributaries of the River Waveney near Wortham, Diss, Norfolk. The reaches are to be named Middle Reach and Southern Reach. Middle Reach is located between National Grid References (NGRs) TM 09566 76851 and TM 09768 76964. Southern Reach is located between NGRs TM 09823 76175 and TM 09977 76339.
The application Middle Reach is to abstract water as follows:
- 36 cubic metres an hour
- 864 cubic metres a day
- 22,700 cubic metres a year
- between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The application Southern Reach is to abstract water as follows:
- 90 cubic metres an hour
- 2,160 cubic metres a day
- 54,550 cubic metres a year
- between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water from both abstraction reaches will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
