Details of the applications

Rolawn Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary a licence and for a new licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The first application is to vary licence serial number NE/026/0034/008 which authorises the abstraction of water from boreholes within the Sherwood Sandstone at Everingham, Yorkshire.

The variation applied for is to add an additional purpose to augment the flow in the Sails Beck at National Grid Reference(NGR) SE 74090 47910 using water abstracted from the Sherwood Sandstone at NGR SE 73917 47832. Abstraction quantities from the boreholes will also be amended however there will be no overall increase in the quantity of water abstracted from the Sherwood Sandstone.

Rolawn Limited has also applied to the Environment Agency for a new licence to abstract water from the Sails Beck between NGRs SE 74367 46999 and SE 74422 46161.

The second application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 120 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,600 cubic metres a day
  • 60,000 cubic metres a year

Between March and November inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for the purpose of spray irrigation.

Further details are: All water abstracted from Sails Beck will be provided by the augmentation of water from the Sherwood Sandstone.
