Details of the application

Rockingham Forest Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of water from Stanwick sluices on the River Nene near Irthlingborough at National Grid Reference SP 96760 71155.

The water will be used for hydro-electric power production. It is proposed that the impoundment works will control and maintain the existing water levels both upstream and downstream of the development.
