Details of the application

Robin Thomas Todhunter Bramley has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Broadland Rivers catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 132.3 litres per second
  • 476 cubic metres an hour
  • 11,406 cubic metres a day
  • 2,052,969 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) TM 42347 92228
  • from abstraction location River Waveney at Gillingham Marshes, Gillingham.

The water will be used for Transfer for the purpose of flood irrigation, including water meadows, warping and pest control.
