This guide includ­es details on sign design, erec­tion, main­te­nance and funding on the strate­gic road net­work (major roads and trunk roads) in England.

It should always be read in conjunction with the current Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD) and Traffic Signs Manual (TSM) which provide detailed guidance on the design and use of traffic signs.

Always refer to the latest TSRGD, amendments and Department for Transport working drawings.
