Details

Use this calculator to work out the nutrient budget for proposed developments in the catchment of River Eden SAC.

The calculator reflects:

  • all the wastewater treatment work upgrades required under the new Water Industry Act 1991 duty, as announced in May 2024
  • improvements that will be made to wastewater treatment works between 2025 and 2030 under the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP), published in January 2025
  • earlier completion dates for selected wastewater treatment work permit upgrades within the River Eden catchment
  • catchment boundary changes following review of WINEP upgrades – wastewater treatment works discharging outside the revised nutrient neutrality catchment have been set to zero
