Richard Leggate and Malcolm Leggate trading as M Leggate and Sons has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from drains within the Witham Fourth Internal Drainage Board at the following locations and National Grid References: Lade Bank, Friskney, Lincolnshire at TF 43621 55609. Gowt Bank, Wrangle, Lincolnshire at TF 42461 53539 to TF 42365 53447, TF 42570 53146 to TF 42450 52989, TF 42505 53045 to TF 42419 52868, TF 42420 52925 to TF 42405 52866, TF 42398 52838 to TF 42369 52782, TF 42360 52746 to TF 42252 52572, TF 42088 52066 to TF 42834 52091, TF 42078 52047 to TF 42203 51652, TF 42210 51646 to TF 42187 51478, TF 42183 51467 to TF 42179 51055. Ings Lane, Leverton, Lincolnshire at TF 38674 49845 to TF 38856 49428, TF 38151 49785 to TF 38846 49140, TF 38870 49150 to TF 39680 48310.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

Lade Bank, Friskney:

  • 50 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,200 cubic metres a day
  • 12,000 cubic metres a year

Gowt Bank, Wrangle:

  • 50 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,200 cubic metres a day
  • 18,000 cubic metres a year

Ings Lane, Leverton

  • 50 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,200 cubic metres a day
  • 18,000 cubic metres a year

The water will be used for spray irrigation between April and October inclusive in each year.
