Details

On December 19, 2016, the Office of the National Data Guardian (NDG) received a request to release a range of correspondence related to work that the NDG and her panel had been doing to consider data sharing by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust with DeepMind.

The information was not released at that time due to the ongoing investigation by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) into this matter. The document available on this page ‘Response to freedom of information requestor, January 2017’ explains this.

After the ICO investigation concluded, the correspondence was released and is also published on this page.
