This privacy notice explains how we will process personal data related to:

  • requesting environmental protection equipment from the Environment Agency
  • reporting the use of environmental protection equipment to the Environment Agency

1. What personal data we collect 

If you decide to provide it, the request form collects:

  • the name of the receiving officer
  • the fire station address 
  • your phone number 
  • your email address 

If you decide to provide it, the report form collects the: 

  • polluter’s name, phone number, or address
  • name of the commanding officer at the incident
  • contact details of an officer in the fire and rescue service who can discuss an incident with the Environment Agency

2. What we do with your personal data 

We use your personal data to: 

  • process your request
  • contact you if we need more information about your request

We may also process and disclose it in connection with: 

  • offering or providing you with our literature or services relating to environmental matters  
  • consulting about environmental issues with the public, public bodies and other organisations, for example, Health and Safety Executive Local Authorities, Emergency Services, Defra 
  • carrying out statistical analysis, research and development on environmental issues 
  • providing public register information to enquirers 
  • investigating possible breaches of environmental law and taking any resulting action 
  • preventing breaches of environmental law 
  • assessing customer service satisfaction and improving our service 

3. Who we share your personal data with 

We share the name and telephone number of the receiving officer with our equipment supplier. 

4. Where your personal data is stored, transferred and processed 

We store, transfer and process your personal data on our servers in the UK. 

5. How long we keep your personal data 

We keep your personal data for the current financial year and the 6 years that follow. 

6. Complaints 

You have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office at any time.
