Details

During these dates the left central arch of Maidenhead A4 Road Bridge will be closed from 9am to 5pm. Pontoons will be placed near the bridge on the upstream and downstream sides. This is to allow the repair of the Maidenhead Gauging Station.

The navigation channel will be through the right central arch of the bridge.

Masters of all boats should maintain a safe speed and lookout near Maidenhead A4 Road Bridge.

All boats must be navigated in accordance with any instructions given from Environment Agency control points or patrol launches.

The information captured by our network of gauging stations enables us to monitor flows and levels in the Thames 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we use it in a number of strategically important ways: to help us forecast and respond to developing flood risk, to manage water levels to support the provision of drinking water supplies, to enable safe navigation and to protect the river’s ecology.

All directions as to left and right are given looking upstream.

We apologise for any inconvenience these works cause and thank you for your patience during this time.
