Registration of hot-rolled flat products from Turkey

The Commission announced, in Implementing Regulation 2020/1686, OJ ref. L379, the registration of imports for hot-rolled flat products from Turkey.

Customs authorities will register imports for a period of 9 months.

This regulation takes effect from 14 November 2020.

1. Product description

Flat-rolled products of iron, non-alloy steel or other alloy steel which are:

  • in coils and not in coils (including ‘cut-to-length’ and ‘narrow strip’ products)
  • not worked further than hot-rolled
  • not clad, plated or coated

2. Excluded products

Excluded products include:

  • stainless steel and grain-oriented silicon electrical steel
  • tool steel and high-speed steel
  • products not in coils, without patterns in relief, with a thickness exceeding 10 millimetres (mm) and a width of 600mm or more
  • products not in coils, without patterns in relief, with a thickness of 475mm or more, but not exceeding 10mm, and of a width of 2,050mm or more

4. The purpose of registration

The purpose of registration is to make sure that, if the investigation results in anti-dumping duties and the necessary conditions are fulfilled, those duties can be applied retrospectively on the registered imports.
