Details of the application

Refresco Beverages UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from wellpoints at Lindred Road, Nelson at National Grid Reference SD 84442 37252 to transfer it to Public Sewer without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 10.42 cubic metres an hour
  • 250 cubic metres a day
  • 91,250 cubic metres a year
  • Abstraction will take place up to 31 December 2021.

The water will be abstracted for the purpose of transferring it between the sources of supply referred to above and without intervening use. Dewatering of the site will take place during the construction period and all water transferred to mains sewer.
