RBGC Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary existing licence TH/039/0043/013 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising chalk at the Royal Blackheath Golf Club, Eltham, London at National Grid Reference TQ 42850 73820.

The variation applied for is to increase the annual quantity authorised on existing licence TH/039/0043/013 of 15,000 cubic metres per annum to 25,000 cubic metres per annum calculated as follows:

  • 3.6 cubic metres an hour
  • 86.4 cubic metres a day
  • 25,000 cubic metres a year
  • all year.

The water will be used for storage for subsequent spray irrigation.
