Raynham Farm Company Limited (The) has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from an unnamed drain (backchannel) of the River Wensum at Dark Wood, Raynham Estate, East Raynham, Fakenham, Norfolk, at National Grid Reference TF 87311 27606.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 72 cubic metres an hour
- 1,728 cubic metres a day
- 120,000 cubic metres a year
- between November and March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray and trickle irrigation. The application is for a long duration licence with an end date of 31 March 2044.
