An application has been made to the Environment Agency by Ralph Harrison and Partners. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from the River Stiffkey at Wighton, Norfolk at National Grid Reference (NGR) TF 94460 40580.

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 84 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,000 cubic metres a day
  • 40,000 cubic metres a year

between November and March inclusive.

The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation. The abstraction will be subject to a minimum required flow being passed before abstraction can take place.
