On the 5 August 2011, the Department for Transport issued a contract notice in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) detailing a comprehensive forward timetable for the re-letting of a number of UK rail franchises. The department has issued this notice to give guidance and clarity to the market around the timing of when franchise opportunities will arise.
