RA and AO Brownlow have applied to the Environment Agency to vary a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 03/28/69/0299 which authorises the abstraction of water from the Marton Pumping Drain at Brampton, Lincolnshire between National Grid References (NGRs) SK 84080 79910 and SK 84160 80200.

The variation applied for is to:

  1. Extend the authorised reach to NGRs between SK 84000 79810 to SK 84209 80641.
  2. Increase authorised quantities from 100m³/day, 5,000m³/year at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 3 litres per second to 50m³/hour, 650m3/day, 31,000m³/year at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 14 litres per second.

The proposed abstraction lies within the Lower Trent and Erewash abstraction Licensing Strategy.
