R.& J.M.Place Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from drains adjacent to the River Bure at Hoveton at National Grid References TG 32383 17410 and TG 31430 17318.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 200 cubic metres an hour
  • 3,000 cubic metres a day
  • 270,000 cubic metres a year
  • At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 60 litres per second
  • between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray and trickle irrigation.
