R J King and Sons has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a variation of a full licence to abstract water from the Hillfarrance Brook, Oake at National Grid Reference ST 15371 24753.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 55 cubic metres an hour

  • 364 cubic metres a day

  • 21,821 cubic metres a year

The water will be used for direct spray irrigation (including storage).

The proposed abstraction lies within the Parrett Catchment and South and West Somerset Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area.
