R B Lease Company Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from an unconfined aquifer within the silt and sands of the Bracklesham Group at The Ageas Bowl, West End, Southampton at National Grid Reference SU 48031 14094.

The water will be used for two purposes of filling a storage tank for subsequent spray irrigation and for the purpose of topping up water levels of lakes all year. The quantities for both purposes will be aggregated to allow a maximum amount of water to be abstracted of:

  • 25 cubic metres an hour
  • 250 cubic metres a day
  • 18,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 April to 31 October inclusive in each year.
