R and J M Place Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from a borehole into chalk at Church Farm, Tunstead, Norfolk at National Grid Reference TG 3130 2210.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 12.6 cubic metres an hour
  • 340 cubic metres a day
  • 25,000 cubic metres a year for private water supply
  • 49,500 cubic metres a year for vegetable washing
  • Abstraction all year.
  • The aggregate quantity of water authorised to abstracted under the terms of this licence and Purpose 1 of licence number 7/34/09/*G/0086 shall not exceed 74,500 cubic metres per year.

This application is for a new licence to replace existing time limited licence 7/34/09/*G/0150A which is due to expire on 31 March 2018. This application is to change the rates of abstraction from those currently licenced.
