FOI/524496 Thank you for your email, received on 6 June 2025, in which you requested information from the office of the Pubs Code Adjudicator (PCA) under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA 2000) entitles you to:

  • be provided with that information, subject to any exemptions in FOIA 2000 which may apply.

Your email of 6 June 2025 requested the following information:

After reviewing your website and other publicly available information, I have not been able to identify the appropriate contact details for third parties (such as suppliers or service providers) to send formal legal correspondence to your organisation.

Please could you confirm the following:

  1. Whether your organisation has one or more specific teams, departments, or named individuals responsible for receiving formal legal correspondence from third parties.
  2. The relevant postal address(es), email address(es), and telephone number(s) that such correspondence should be directed to. If responsibility differs by type of issue (e.g. contractual, procurement-related, legal) or by region, please provide the details for each as applicable.
  3. If this information is already published, please confirm where it can be found.

This request is made in the public interest to ensure there are clear and transparent routes for formal engagement with public authorities.

I can confirm that the PCA does hold some information relevant to your request. Please see below corresponding numbered responses to your FOI request.

  1. I can confirm the PCA does not have a named individual responsible for receiving formal legal correspondence. The PCA’s policy is to drive all incoming and outgoing email correspondence through the  office@pubscodeadjudicator.gov.uk mailbox. This mailbox is monitored at least twice a day, and all incoming emails are triaged, tagged and forwarded for the correct team or individual. It is important that the subject header is accurately completed, so the email can be directed to the right person.

The PCA regularly monitors its performance against responding to enquiries/correspondence into the office@pubscodeadjudicator.gov.uk mailbox and the outcome is published in our annual report.

The office@pubscodeadjudicator.gov.uk email address is published on the PCA’s website, linked here, annual reports (2023-24 linked here).

  1. The PCA’s registered address is Pubs Code Adjudicator, 4th Floor, 23 Stephenson Street, Birmingham. B2 4BJ. The PCA has a national helpline number – 0800 528 8080. The helpline provides the caller the opportunity to leave a brief message and contact details. In most circumstances, a team member will respond within three working days, if correct contact details have been left.

  2. The office inbox domain name and the national helpline number are published in the PCA’s annual report and are used when engaging with stakeholders.

If you do not believe that the office of the PCA has provided an appropriate response to your request, as set out above, you are entitled to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your original request and should be made in writing, quoting the above reference, to office@pubscodeadjudicator.gov.uk or the PCA registered address:

4th Floor

23, Stephenson Street,

Birmingham

B2 4BJ

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
