1. Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000

Thank you for your email, received on 24 January 2022, in which you requested information from the office of the Pubs Code Adjudicator (PCA) under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the FOI Act).

The FOI Act entitles you to:

  • know whether the information you have requested is held by the PCA; and
  • be provided with that information, subject to any exemptions in the FOI Act which may apply

On 24 January 2022, you requested the following:

“This is an information request relating to losses and special payments

Please include the information for each of the following periods; 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21:

  • the total number of cases of losses in each year
  • the total cost of losses in each year
  • an itemisation of each loss including what it was for and how much it cost
  • the total number of special payments in each year
  • the total value of special payments in each year
  • an itemisation of each special payment including what it was for and how much it cost”

The PCA office does hold information relating to your request. The PCA has reported no losses or special payments for the years requested. This information is available to be accessed online in the PCA’s annual report and accounts document for the relevant financial years.

If you do not believe that the office of the PCA has provided an appropriate response to your request, you are entitled to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your original request and should be made in writing, quoting the above reference, to office@pubscodeadjudicator.gov.uk or:
