Details

On 9 May 2019 the Secretary of State announced that the government will fully fund the removal and replacement of unsafe ACM cladding on private sector residential buildings 18 metres or over, with costs estimated at £200 million.

This guidance document sets out the scope and eligibility criteria for the fund, against which applications will be assessed. It describes which costs are covered, the eligibility criteria, how the fund works – including important rules on State Aid – how to apply and the timetable for submitting applications.

From 1 September 2025, the Private Sector ACM Cladding Remediation Fund will not accept new applications. Applications for government remediation funding for buildings over 11m in England are to be made to the Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) and managed by Homes England. New applicants should visit the Building Remediation Hub to start their application. Further information on the CSS can be found in the Cladding Safety Scheme Overview.

The Fund will continue to progress the funding and remediation of the buildings still in the Fund. This guidance: Private Sector ACM Cladding Remediation Fund: Prospectus still applies to existing applications.
