This publication sets out the government’s long-term approach to improving the quality, coherence and transparency of data on the private rented sector in England.
It explains how existing surveys, operational data and new information generated through the implementation of the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 will be used to:
- better understand the problems renters face
- monitor how the sector is functioning
- support evaluation of the impact of legislative change
The strategy is intended to strengthen the evidence base for policy making, transparency and accountability over time.
