Analysis of how changes to assessing pupils working below the standard of national curriculum tests will affect specific protected groups.



An assessment of the effect that changes set out in the government’s response to the Primary school pupil assessment: Rochford Review recommendations consultation will have on groups with relevant protected characteristics.

The relevant protected characteristics, identified in the Equality Act 2010, include:

  • age
  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race (including ethnicity)
  • religion or belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation
