May 2026: Premises contracted and built under Project Gigabit contracts

Updated 26 May 2026

Note: For two contracts (Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire & Milton Keynes and North Shropshire), a reduction in reported built premises is observed in this release. This is driven by supplier data resubmissions, where earlier delivery records have been removed and is due to be replaced with revised data. These revisions reflect updates to underlying administrative data rather than a change in delivery performance. Users should therefore exercise caution when comparing these contracts with previous publications.

1. Overview

Building Digital UK (BDUK) publishes monthly contract-level data on the progress of its Project Gigabit contracts.

The contracted premises data only includes premises in the initial scope of contracts; there may also be deferred scope premises that are not reflected here. “CO” refers to Type C Call Off contracts.

These figures are not directly comparable to the figures published in its official statistics releases; they track the number of contracted premises to which the supplier has delivered a gigabit-capable connection, whereas the official statistics report on the number of premises that have received a gigabit-capable connection as a result of BDUK subsidy.

This table is a snapshot of data held by BDUK on 21 May. There is a variable time lag between contract signature/delivery and data ingestion by BDUK, so the figures below should not be used to assess whether contractual milestones have been met.

For further information on data processing of management information at BDUK, please refer to the UPRN level release user guide and technical note for premises in BDUK plans.

The data is rounded to the nearest 10 and numbers may not sum due to rounding.
