Teachers can use these materials to inform statutory teacher assessment at the end of key stage 2 and optional teacher assessment at the end of key stage 1 for pupils who are working below the standards of the national curriculum but engaged in subject-specific study.
The materials are designed to support teachers in making judgements against the pre-key stage standards. If teachers are confident in their judgements, they do not need to refer to this guidance.
