Pollack Compensation Scheme
Defra has this week (10 April 2024) launched a Pollack compensation scheme to provide support to those who have been most impacted by the bycatch-only pollack fishery in the South-West.

The scheme, which is being administered by Marine Management Organisation (MMO) on behalf of Defra, follows engagement with industry as to how pollack fishers can be properly supported. You can find the full announcement, and more details about this scheme, on Gov.uk.
Fishers do not need to apply for this scheme; those that meet the qualifying criteria will be contacted directly by MMO by email or letter in the coming days.
