This release provides information from the Police National Computer (PNC) dataset on offenders who have been cautioned or convicted for a ‘proxy’ knife-enabled offence (an experimental approach that aims to identify knife-enabled offenders in the PNC, using a combination of possession offences and any of the 7 offences that can be flagged as knife-enabled offences in the police recorded crime data that occurred on the same date).
The data are taken using a cut of the PNC data provided to the Home Office for analytical purposes.
