This circular has been replaced by the Planning Inspectorate’s Procedural Guidance: Planning appeals and called-in planning applications (PINS 01/2009).

The new guidance applies in relation to: * Planning appeals dealt with under written representations where the application was received by the local planning authority on or after 6 April 2009 * Planning appeals dealt with by hearing or inquiry where the appeal was made on or after 6 April 2009 * Called-in cases where the application, which is subsequently called-in, was made on after 6 April 2009
