Details of the application

Penmar Farming Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Till catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 35 litres per second
  • 125 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,500 cubic metres a day
  • 74,620 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 May and 30 September inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References (NGRs) NT 92770 43010; NT 91090 41490 to NT 91180 41010; NT 89320 42950 to NT 89840 42360; NT 90060 42160 to NT 90360 41960
  • from abstraction locations Duddo/Shellacres/Castle Heaton.

The water will be used for Trickle irrigation - Direct.
