The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 from Mick George Limited.

  • Application number: EPR/EP3038VB/A001
  • Regulated facility type: Hazardous Waste Transfer Station with hazardous soil bioremediation. The activities applied for include:
  • 5.3A(1)(a)(i) Disposal or recovery of hazardous waste with a capacity exceeding 10 tonnes per day by biological treatment - for soil bioremediation.
  • 5.3A(1)(a)(iii) Disposal or recovery of hazardous waste with a capacity exceeding 10 tonnes per day – blending or mixing prior to bioremediation.
  • 5.3 A(1)(a)(iv) Disposal or recovery of hazardous waste with a capacity exceeding 10 tonnes per day – repackaging as part of the Waste Transfer Station Operation which includes clinical waste storage and transfer.
  • 5.3 A(1) (a) (vi) Disposal or recovery of hazardous waste with a capacity exceeding 10 tonnes per day involving recycling or reclamation of inorganic materials other than metals or metal compounds for soil treatment and as part of the concrete batching facility.

There is also a hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage transfer and treatment activity which is a waste operation which include clinical waste storage and transfer.

  • the materials, substances and energy it will use and generate
  • the conditions of its site
  • the source, nature and quantity of its foreseeable emissions and their significant effects on the environment
  • the proposed techniques for preventing, reducing, and monitoring its emissions and preventing and recovering waste
  • and an outline of the main alternatives, if any, considered

You can look at the register 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please phone the Environment Agency’s National Customer Contact Centre on 03708 506 506 to arrange an appointment. You may get a copy of documents on the register. The Environment Agency may charge to cover copying costs.

The Environment Agency must decide whether to grant or refuse the application. If they grant it, they must decide what conditions to include in the permit.
