An application has been made to the Environment Agency by Paul Stewart. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Isle at Eames Mill Weir, Ashwell, Ilminster, Somerset at National Grid Reference ST 35837 16206.

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 468 cubic metres an hour
  • 11,232 cubic metres a day
  • 4,099,680 cubic metres a year
  • at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 130 litres per second

Between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for power production via a propeller type turbine.

All water abstracted will be returned to the River Isle at National Grid Reference ST 35840 16222.
