1. Details of the application

Paul Gosling has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Bellwater Drain between National Grid References (NGRs) TF 40989 58791 and TF 41348 58904, TF 40989 58791 and TF 41071 59339, TF 41071 59339 and TF 41187 59378 and from the Thorpe Drain at NGR TF 41434 60400.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 96 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,517 cubic metres a day
  • 18,181 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation. The abstraction is within Witham Fourth District IDB.
