The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is committed to putting patients and the public at the heart of our work. This plan sets out our approach to patient and public involvement and engagement from 2026 to 2030. It builds on the progress made through our Patient Involvement Strategy 2021-2025.
The plan explains how we will involve patients, carers and the wider public in regulatory decisions. This includes medicines safety, medical devices and emerging technologies. It outlines our principles for inclusive engagement, transparency and collaboration, and how we will ensure a broader range of voices and experiences inform our work.
It also sets out our priorities and planned activities over the next three years, including:
- strengthening partnerships
- improving opportunities for involvement
- demonstrating how patient and public contributions influence regulatory decisions and outcomes
