Information about practical test pass rates by gender and test centre along with details of first attempt passes can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/car-practical-driving-test-operational-statistics. This information is therefore exempt from release under section 21 (information accessible by other means).
The table below shows theory test pass rates by gender and first attempt for tests taken at Wigan:

The highest number of failed attempts to pass a practical test is 16 attempts by a female candidate at the Atherton practical test centre.
The highest number of failed attempts to pass a theory test is 25 attempts by a male candidate at the Wigan theory test centre.
Please note that these figures only include tests at the Wigan theory test centre or Atherton practical test centre and only include attempts taken since 2004 (earliest records held) for theory tests and since April 2009 (when test centre opened) for practical tests.
