P G Rix (Farms) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 8/36/15/*S/0177A, which authorises the abstraction of water from the River Stour between National Grid References TL 965 335 and TL 977 337 at Thrift Farm, Nayland, Essex, for direct spray irrigation over the period of April to October inclusive.
The variation applied for is to:
- add a point of abstraction at National Grid Reference TM 04884 33440, Stratford Hall Farm, Stratford St Mary, Essex
- extend the period of abstraction from April to October inclusive to All Year
- add the purpose of abstraction “filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation”
